A 4-part series on fearlessness and elemental wisdom

About the talks

This four-part recorded series is about the fearless Buddha nature in all of us. Focusing on the elemental nature of direct experience, Dr. Larry Ward finds insight in the darkness and light of our individual lives and collective identities.

These talks are the foundation for Dr. Ward’s next book, and offer a glimpse of his vision for what it means to be human in a world of tumultuous change.

This collection includes the audio and video recordings of four talks given in November and December 2021. Reflection questions and recommended practices for each talk are included.

1. Apocalypse as Revelation

The word "apocalypse" means revelation. When seen deeply, it is more than natural disasters or social chaos. If we dare to look and listen to the natural world, we can find resonance with the miracle of vast wisdom. This talk focuses on the revelations of the elemental, and how it mirrors our own body-mind.

2. The Quest for Paradise in Darkness and Light

What are the elemental aspects of darkness and light in humanity’s efforts to establish an earthly paradise? Is paradise only a light-filled hope? Together we will explore the dance between the colonial mind's shadows and the planetary light now emerging.

3. Take Me to the Water

The waters of the new world are flowing within, around and among us. Let’s dive deep so we are not overtaken by a flood of fear-filled emotions and desires. Below the surface, we can embody the transformative powers of adaptation and nourishment that belong to this precious element.

4. I Hear Music in the Air

This talk explores how practicing with the air element can touch the foundation of our aliveness and the energy of our shared kinship, while revealing the necessary transformation of our collective unconscious.
